Asics GT-1000 5 GTX Women’s Running Shoe

The Asics GT-1000 5 GTX Running Shoe is constructed with a waterproof and breathable upper thanks to Gore-Tex. No matter what the weather, Gore-Tex keeps your feet dry and comfortable providing optimum climate comfort. All Gore-Tex footwear combines durable waterproofness with optimised breathability and carries their ‘guaranteed to keep you dry’ promise. With the use of a California Slip Lasting, it provides stability and comfort by which the upper is stitched around a canvas or EVA board and directly attached to the midsole. Featuring 3M Reflective material on the shoe, it provides visibility in low light conditions.
Equipped with DuoMax in the midsole which is a dual-density system positioned to enhance support and stability, positioned sport specifically. This higher density EVA material helps to reduce the effect of overpronation and also enhances the normal movement of the foot. Additionally, featuring the SpeVa midsole technology, it improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown when running. Some of the features that provide this technology are: better shock attenuation, improves durability.
To ensure ultimate comfort to the wearer, the shoe has Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning. The Rearfoot GEL Cushioning System is a silicone-based cushioning system which provides a lower shock when the heel impacts on the ground, offering a better cushioning. The Forefoot GEL Cushioning System is a similar technology as the rear one which is placed in the forefoot of the shoes. It reduces shear forces, helps the foot when propulsing and allows movements in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. Lastly, the GT-1000 5 GTX Shoe uses the technical design IGS (Impact Guidance System) which is based on the philosophy of the human body that allows the foot to perform a more natural heel to toe movement. This technology is based on 3 principles: Contact, Midstance and Propulsion.
Trusstic and Guidance Line Outsole
The outsole of the shoe features the Asics Propulsion Trusstic System which is a supportive shank which is implemented into the outsole and extends from the arch to the forefoot. The plastic shank utilised on the outsole channels energy to provide a forward propulsion. It works by mirroring the functions of the foot’s ligaments, specifically the plantar fascia. This transforms the foot from a flexible structure, for shock absorption through the heel strike and mid-stance, into a strong, firm lever to provide forward propulsion. As a result, the Propulsion Trusstic System helps to spring the runner forward with every stride. Working with the Trusstic System is the Asics Guidance Line which helps influence the foot to interact with the shoe along its ideal and natural line of progression. A synthetic insert which serves as a physical separation of the midsole and outsole which decouples the tooling and helps to produce a consistent load transfer at the propulsion stage. The Guidance Line works by influencing a consistent load and motion from heel strike to toe-off. Especially critical during the flat-foot to propulsion phase when braking and acceleration forces reach their peak, the Guidance Line delivers gait efficiency and helps to reduce the likelihood of injury.
Lastly, the outsole is fitted with a snow rubber compound which improves traction in winter conditions and also reduces snow easily.
